Interview

How long have you been involved in music and how did you decide to start?
I have been involved in music since I was 13 years old, and I had a great desire to play at least 2 years earlier, but only then my family moved to Varna.

Which song do you remember most vividly from your childhood?
I remember very vividly a song by Beethoven - the canon "Autumn" was in the music textbook for 6th grade, my girlfriend and I sang it in 2 voices, I even remember the key in which it was - in D minor.

Who are the artists you have listened to and played the most?
Rather, I can say who my favorite composers are, because I have played many works from preclassics, classics, romanticism, verism, neoclassicism, etc. They are Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Chausson, Mahler, Richard Strauss, Stravinsky, Vladigerov.

In which musical style are you most advanced?
In classical music.

What does music give you?
Joy and inspiration.

Why did you decide to start teaching music?
Because my daughter started studying violin, and my next students were the sons of my close friend. I realized that communicating with students and teaching brought me satisfaction. It is a joy to hear after a few lessons how the child plays something that used to be very difficult for him.

What is the most important thing to learn in music?
For me, the most important thing is to recreate the written music in the right style, to perform the musical phrase, to sing the melody as a human voice would perform it.

What is RockSchool for you?
For me, RockSchool is a new horizon and a new opportunity.

Which music is valuable to you?
Good music is valuable - it is in all genres and styles.

What's the most extravagant thing you've heard lately?
This was a work in which I participated - a concert for percussion and string orchestra by our great conductor and composer Emil Tabakov.

Do you have a dream related to music?
Yes, to be part of more wonderful concerts and the children I work with to play even better!
