HISTORY

In 2018 we started working on our idea for adapted music training for visually impaired children and young people. We called this project "I see through music" and with it we apply for the Change 2018/2019 - an initiative of Nova TV and "Reach 4 Change" Foundation.

After several stages of evaluation, we reached their accelerator program, where we met with mentors and went through training and workshops to improve our projects. Subsequently, after a presentation to a jury, only 5 projects were selected to continue to the next stage - online voting. One of them was "I see through music", and at the voting itself, we collected the record for the program 57,748 votes of people sympathetic to our cause.

At the grand final, we met with two juries - children and adults. The winner was announced on the stage of the Teatro Theater and it was Rockschool! As a winner, we received financial support of BGN 30,000 to create the program for more effective and easy music education for blind children.

In the first days after the awarding, we started training our teachers and work on the equipment of a music room with additional tools and software solutions that every child can benefit from.

In November 2019, the scholarship program of the project began, in which 19 children and young people found a place after participating in a competition. They received 48 hours of individual lessons and over 80 hours of individual rehearsals. "I see through music" continues until the end of 2020, and then the second scholarship program for blind students will start.

THE MISSION

"I see through music" is a project that creates an adapted music education program for visually impaired children and youth. Music and sounds for them are a way to see the world differently and to be a much more vital part of it.

Music helps to develop many important personal qualities and skills, including awareness, creativity, discipline, confidence, imagination and much more. They significantly improve the quality of life in people and our mission is to give this opportunity for the development of as many students as possible.

In our scholarships, students have access to 6 months of intensive training, which includes 48 hours of music lessons and 80 hours of rehearsals on their chosen instrument or singing.

Our goal is "I see through music" to be an annual scholarship program to support dozens of visually impaired children and youth.

"I see through music" is a project that is part of the Music for Bulgaria Foundation, which develops music education and culture in Bulgaria, providing innovative opportunities for growth for anyone who wants to pursue music.
